Los síntomas del linfoma no Hodgkin varían, dependiendo de dónde se ubique el cáncer.

La primera señal de linfoma no Hodgkin podría ser una inflamación indolora del cuello, axila, o ingle. La inflamación también podría ocurrir en los tejidos suaves del brazo o pierna si el linfoma se ha desarrollado fuera de un nódulo linfático, como algunas veces sucede. Si el linfoma está presente en un órgano interno, como el estómago o intestinos, los síntomas se relacionarán con la alteración de la función del órgano, como dolor gástrico, dolor abdominal, u obstrucción intestinal.

La inflamación abdominal, indigestión, o dolor estomacal podrían ocurrir si el cáncer está en el tejido linfático abdominal, bloquea los intestinos, o ha dañado el revestimiento abdominal y ha permitido que se acumule líquido.

Podría ocurrir tos o falta de aliento si el cáncer comienza en el pecho. Esto puede ejercer presión sobre la tráquea. Si un tumor en esta área comprime la vena cava superior, también podría ocurrir inflamación de la cabeza y brazos.

A medida que se desarrolla un mayor número de células cancerosas, síntomas generales podrían incluir:

  • Fiebre inexplicable
  • Sudoraciones nocturnas
  • Fatiga
  • Apetito reducido
  • Pérdida de peso (sin hacer dieta)
  • Comezón en la piel (severa), especialmente después de bañarse
