Patient and Visitor Info

Please be sure that you and your doctor have met any insurance authorization requirements. When requirements are not met, your insurance company may deny payment and therefore you will be responsible.

The Service Access Department (Admitting & Registration) will contact you in advance to collect insurance and other information. Pre-registration allows us to have your hospital forms ready when you arrive for your appointment. You may also contact a Financial Counselor to pre-register by calling 203-694-8456 or 203-694-8456, Monday – Friday, 8:30 to 5:30. Please bring your insurance cards and necessary co-payment for your visit.

Our Patient Financial Service office can be reached at 860.696.6030 or toll-free at 888.271.8662, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, for billing issues. For your convenience Credit Card payments are accepted over the telephone, on-line or at our cashier window 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. The Cashier’s Office is located on the first floor, next to Radiology.

Credit Cards accepted include: Visa®, American Express®, Discover®, and MasterCard®.

Counseling Financial Counselors are available to assist families and patient with a variety of financial needs. We are able to assist those who are uninsured, underinsured or may need financial assistance or to set up payment arrangements. The financial counseling staff may assist you with applying for different Government programs or give you advice on how to proceed. If you do not qualify for any type of Government programs, we can review your financial status to see if you meet guidelines for special programs, Patient Financial Assistance, or hospital Free Bed Funds.

As a courtesy to our patients, MidState Medical Center submits bills to your insurance company and will do everything possible to advance your claim. However, it may become necessary for you to contact your insurance company or supply additional information to them for claims processing requirements or to expedite payment. You should remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company, and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill.
