MidState Receives CNA Nursing Award
Midstate Medical Center received the Connecticut Nurses' Association's (CNA) 2006 Excellence in the Workplace Award at CNA's 100th Annual Convention on Monday. According to CNA, the goal of the award is to empower nurses in the workplace to create an environment that promotes professional autonomy and control over nursing practice.
MidState was cited for its interdisciplinary teamwork approach to patient care, and for its program for reducing workplace injuries associated with moving and lifting patients.
MidState Medical Center previously received recognition for its workplace environment last year, when it was named one of the 2005 "50 Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America," by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
