MidState Cancer Center Receives Grant from Komen for the CureThe MidState Cancer Center recently received a grant from breast cancer champion Komen for the Cure in the generous amount of $33, 795. The grant will support The Cancer Center’s efforts to promote early detection and prevention of breast cancer among medically underserved women residing throughout central Connecticut. Funds help to provide culturally sensitive education that improves the quality of life of both breast cancer patients and survivors. The MidState Cancer Center has received funding from Komen for many years. In the past, funds have supported outreach to Hispanic and African American communities, survivorship clinics and various educational programs.
