As Chairperson of the Development Committee, it continues to be a great pleasure to lead the fundraising efforts of this fine hospital. MidState is your community hospital, and by raising funds for our programs and services, we are ensuring that everyone in the communities we serve has equal access to high quality healthcare. Your generous contributions make it possible to purchase cutting-edge technology that keeps us at the forefront of medicine.

It goes without saying that the Development Committee shares an enthusiasm for securing MidState's financial future. I am proud to lead this group, and I sincerely thank you for your continued support of MidState Medical Center.
- Annual Appeal
Through your generosity, MidState Medical Center's Annual Appeal makes it possible for us to carry out our commitment to delivering excellent care. Each year, we kindly ask for your support, and you respond overwhelmingly. You can be assured that your contribution makes a world of difference. Funds raised through the Annual Appeal help to purchase state-of-the-art medical technology, sustain quality programs and fund the development of new services. We are pleased to recognize the generosity of our donors who have contributed to MidState Medical Center's Annual Appeal in the past:
See our honor roll.
If you would like to contribute to the Annual Appeal, complete the form and mail it in with your contribution, or simply contribute via our online giving service. Online giving makes giving back to MidState fast and easy.
We thank you for partnering with MidState to help to ensure that our hospital remains a leader in healthcare for years to come.
- Buy a Brick
When you contribute a gift of $250 or more to our Annual Appeal, you can have a brick engraved in our "Town Green" in memory or in honor of a loved one or special occasion. Buying a brick is an opportunity to turn your gift into a tangible reminder of your commitment to your community hospital. It's also a great way for local businesses to recognize their entire company, or a deserving employee, for a job well done. To purchase a brick, simply complete the Brick Form and mail it to us with your Annual Appeal Form and contribution.
- Buy a Brick for the Next Generation
"A baby is someone who grows inside of you and stays in your heart forever."
Your family can relive the joy of your baby's birth for generations to come. MidState Medical Center's family was with your family before and during the blessed birth and has created a way to make these memories last into the future. MidState has dedicated a special area of its Tribute Walkway to accommodate "New Generation" bricks. This area is easy to recognize by the precious teddy bear logo engraved on each New Generation break. The brick will be there in perpetuity, for you and everyone to see and remember the joy of this occasion. To help us make this program possible, we are asking for a $250 contribution to MidState Medical Center to support the finest in healthcare for your family, friends and neighbors. To purchase a brick for the next generation, fill out the "New Generation" form.
- Gifts of Appreciated Securities
In addition to other forms of giving, MidState Medical Center also accepts gifts of appreciated securities. Gifts of appreciated securities given to the hospital will not only help you to avoid a capital gains tax, but will also allow the hospital to benefit from the full value of your gift. Now, your investment can be two-fold—it will benefit you and your community hospital.
- Gifts of Cash
We welcome and appreciate any gift you can contribute to MidState Medical Center. Please be assured that 100% of your contribution always directly benefits the hospital's programs and services and helps our institution evolve into the best it can be for the communities we serve. If you would like to make a contribution to MidState Medical Center, you can do so via credit card, or check made payable to MidState Medical Center. Or, you can make a donation via our online giving service. Online giving (link to online giving page) makes giving back to MidState fast and easy. We thank you for partnering with MidState to help ensure that our hospital remains a leader in healthcare for years to come.
- Gifts of Life Insurance
You can leave a lasting legacy that will benefit patients and families for generations to come by remembering MidState Medical Center in your will. Your bequest, whether small or large, will help ensure that we have the financial strength and technological capability to provide outstanding care to the patients of tomorrow. Your attorney will be able to help you use the proper wording in your will to be sure your wishes will be carried out as you intend them.
For an example of proper wording, click here.
By naming MidState Medical Center in your will, you will become a member of The Infinity Circle, a unique program designed to help build MidState's endowment fund. When you give an endowment, the principal is never used, only its income and capital appreciation. Endowments provide a stable, predictable and permanent source of income to meet the future health care needs of our communities.
MidState is privileged to boast a growing number of Infinity Circle members who all share a deeply rooted commitment to the hospital and a passion to giving back.
- Grateful Patient
Although we serve many different patients, with many different health concerns, they all have one thing in common: an emotional connection to our Hospital. It's a connection earned through skill, caring and the recognition that our patients are, first and foremost, people. In independent patient-satisfaction surveys, we've earned the highest ratings nationwide for Radiation Oncology. We've earned top ratings for our SurgiCenter nurses. In fact, we consistently rank among the top hospitals in the nation and Connecticut. As one of our cancer patients once put it: "Every person goes above and beyond. It's really a big help."
Your gift to MidState Medical Center can take many forms. In addition to helping us fulfill our mission to serve patients, it can also provide you with a number of benefits including tax savings and the profound satisfaction that comes from helping others. We will notify your caregivers and/or tribute gift honorees of your kind and thoughtful gift. View our Patient Giving Brochure.
- Infinity Circle
You can leave a lasting legacy that will benefit patients and families for generations to come by remembering MidState Medical Center in your will. MidState Medical Center's bequest society, the Infinity Circle, recognizes those donors who have made the decision to include MidState Medical Center in their estate plans. Just as the legacy of others has made a difference for individuals in our care today, your legacy can ensure financial strength, technological capability and medical excellence for those in our care tomorrow. Bequests need not be large. In fact, for every sizeable one we receive, countless smaller ones are arranged. Regardless of size, bequests directed to the hospital's endowment fund have an impact.
Your attorney will be able to help you use the proper wording in your will to be sure your wishes will be carried out as you intend them. See an example of proper wording.
Endowment gifts generate income, which provides the economic stability on which we now rely. Bequests are recognized in several ways, when we are made aware of your plans. We will be happy to work with you and your advisors to find a gift that's right for you. For further information, please contact Gail Millerick, Director of Development Office at 203.694.8742.
