The Neuroscience Center addresses the neurology needs of patients throughout the entire continuum of care, including inpatient and acute care, long-term care, outpatient services, preventive care and education to the general public and others in the medical community.
MidState's highly reputable stroke program has earned the Joint Commissions' Gold Seal of Approval, as well as recognition from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, for having put forth exceptional efforts to ensure that patients who have suffered a stroke receive the highest quality, evidenced-based stroke care. Since its inception, the program has grown tremendously and continues to offer outstanding care based on several measures of quality.
In addition, the Neuroscience Center also includes MidState's Sleep Care Center and Balance & Hearing Institute. The Sleep Care Center offers state-of-the-art technology for the diagnosis and treatment of various sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, insomnia, sleepwalking and narcolepsy. The Balance & Hearing Institute focuses on treating patients who experience dizziness or other symptoms that impair balance.
